Kim Woo Bin will soon be taking a break from his hectic schedule to receive treatment for a recently diagnosed rare type of cancer.
As per Kim Woo Bin’s agency, Sidu HQ, the 26-year-old actor was feeling unwell due to his busy schedule so he went to have a checkup and had an incidental finding of nasopharyngeal cancer which is a rare type of cancer that affects the upper part of the throat behind the nose.
“Hello, this is sidus HQ. This is a statement about Kim Woo Bin’s health issues. We took to this statement to reveal Kim Woo Bin’s condition personally, knowing that many will worry and show concern.
While carrying out his various schedules, Kim Woo Bin felt abnormalities in his body and visited a hospital, being diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. Fortunately, it is still in its early stages, so he has begun receiving drug treatment and radiation therapy. He plans on focusing on his treatment for now before greeting you with a recovered, healthy image, so please wish for his speedy convalescence.
We are currently in the stages of adjusting his previously made schedules. We ask for your numerous cheers and encouragements. Thank you.”
It is a good thing it was diagnosed early so they are making arrangements to prioritize his health and recovery.
Kim Woo Bin’s girlfriend since 2015, actress Shin Min Ah has already released a statement through her agency saying that she is helping his boyfriend undergo his treatment well.
The filming of his upcoming movie “Wiretap” (working title) has also been pushed back as well as Kim Woo Bin’s other schedules.
Nasopharyngeal cancer usually has a five-year survival rate, about 70-90% on its first stage.
We are all devastated by the news and we are all praying for your steadfast recovery. Stay strong Kim Woo Bin!
