July 13, 2019 – this is supposed to be the day that Korean duo TVXQ! would finally grace a concert stage in front of their Filipino fans for the very first time since their debut in 2003. However, three weeks before the show, local concert organizer announced that they had to cancel the event altogether due to technical difficulties. Several local and international fans expressed their disappointment due to this sad news on SNS. Fortunately, and true to the fandom’s maxim to always keep the faith, fans themselves made this heartbreaking event into a memorable and precious moment for everyone.
Various local-based fanclubs behind the #TVXQinManila fan-project organized a gathering instead for fans who still wanted to get together on the day of supposed concert. More than 100 local and international fans came to Warehouse Eight, Makati for the one-night fan gathering event. Aside from local fans (who flew from different parts of the country), international Bigeast members (the band’s official Japanese fanclub) were present in the event. Attendees enjoyed a screening of Begin Again (Nissan Stadium) and also received various TVXQ! merchandise from the raffle (courtesy of Bigeast fans). Through shared love for TVXQ!, fans were able to make new friends and create happy memories.
