Totally Hallyufied at the HallyuPopFest 2019 (Day 1)
Thousands of local and international fans flocked at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for the two fun-filled days of celebrating the Hallyu wave for this year’s HallyuPopFest.
As an addition to this year’s event, Hallyutown was built to bring fans together through the diverse and colorful culture of Korea. First stop in the to-go list was the Hallyupopfest Merchandise booth wherein fans could purchase a variety of memorabilia merch like tote bags, tees, pins, notebooks, and their limited edition HPF Pals plushies – Honey, Pepper, and Fancy.
Fans can also become idols in the Glitsy Booth where they can sing and dance to their favorite K-Pop songs and even score a chance to become a global stars like their K-Idols. If they felt tired and hungry with all these fun yet hectic activities, they might drop by Jinjja Chicken booth and fill their tummies with our all-time favorite Korean food like tteokbokki, kimbap, and fried chicken.
Activities like Random Dance Play and Karaoke Singing Challenge let the fans shine and win their favorite artists’ autographed albums.
Day 1
Afternoon Showcase
GWSN graced the stage with their first two songs Puzzle Moon and Yolowa. They then played “Lucky Draw” where they have to accomplish a mission from picked through the spinning roulette. The girls were tasked to do Random Dance Play and perfectly grooved to Momoland’s Bboom Bboom, Wannaone’s Energetic, and Blackpink’s As If It’s Your Last. After, they performed their last three songs Melting Point, Tok Tok, and Pinky Star.
Second and last to perform is the group A.C.E. Unfortunately, one of their members, Wow, was not able to join the rest of the boys for the event, however, they still nailed to perform their songs Cactus, Callin’, Take Me Higher, and Under Cover. Their mission for the “Lucky Draw” game is to do a 2 vs 2 Aegyo Battle. Before playing it, they mentioned that they least want to play this game but still accomplished it for the fans. The host announced that it was a draw so they both had to face the “brutal punishment” which turned out to be sexy dancing. The crowd cheered as the boys seductively danced to Camilla Cabello’s Havana.
Red Carpet
Fans waited long hours for their favorite artists to strut on the red carpet.
The girls of GWSN walked the red carpet first with their black and white matching outfit.
A.C.E. with their army-inspired red and black attires, and N.Flying in their summer-y getups marched to the stage.
Next to pose for the fans were the red fairies of Oh My Girls and the angels in disguise, NU’EST.
Hyolyn then wowed the crowd with her simple yet elegant outfit and even sang a snippet of her song.
Last to grace the red carpet were the cool boys of WINNER in their best suits. They were all given a small yet very cute souvenirs, HPF Pals plushies, and posed with them before leaving the stage.
Concert
The very energetic band N.Flying launched the fun of the night with their hit songs How R U Today, Leave It, Rooftop, Flowerwork, and The Real. The boys ended their performance with Spring Memories in the crowd of bright lights.
After performing at the Afternoon Showcase and even joining the Red Carpet, GWSN surprised everyone and shortly re-performed Pinky Star and Yolowa.
The lasses of Oh My Girl lively danced and sang to SSFWL, Love Speed, Liar Liar, Secret Garden, and Real World. Then, they performed their last song Remember Me.
Fans, especially L.O.Λ.Es, cheered loudly when it’s finally NU’EST’s turn to set the stage on fire. They first sang their all-time-favorite hit Hello. They also performed BET BET, Love Paint, Segno, and Look (A Starlight Night).
Hyolyn, a former member of the girl group SISTAR and now a soloist, amazed the fans with her power vocals and dance moves in performing Paradise, See Sea, Good Bye, Blue Moon, Dally, and a special version of SISTAR’s Shake It.
As the grand finale of the Day 1 concert, the fine lads of WINNER performed their always-on-the-chart tracks Love Me Love Me, Empty, Everyday, Millions, and their latest single, Ah Yeah. Really Really captured the hearts of Inner Circles in the stadium as their last song.
All the artists joined the encore and shared their last bow to the audience.
