Manila, Philippines, August 17, 2018 – MOMOLAND, the all-girl K-pop group behind the global hit “Bboom Bboom” that spawned countless dance videos shared through Facebook worldwide, visited Manila to meet and greet their top Filipino fans from their Facebook fan Groups.
Selected Filipino fans got a chance to meet MOMOLAND in person at an event in partnership with Facebook and Viu. MOMOLAND members Nancy, Joo E, Daisy, Hye Bin, Ahin, Jane, and Taeha posed for photos, answered questions, and even strutted a few dance steps for fans to thank them for their continuous support.
“It’s truly amazing for us to connect our fans through the Merry-Go-Round fan club and Facebook Group in the Philippines. We have such fantastic fans from around the world, and through Facebook, we get to share with them what we do everyday in fun and really engaging ways. On some days, the Merries get to see the fun and hard work behind our music in real-time and seeing them get as excited as we are is really something that’s important to us,” shared Nancy, a member of MOMOLAND. “To finally be here in person in Manila to meet some of our fans is really a thrilling experience.”
Members of MOMOLAND are thrilled at the reception they receive on Facebook, saying it has allowed them to bridge geographical distances and get to know their fans better. They are also excited to know that they have fans from other countries, such as the Philippines, who are passionate about all things K-pop.

MOMOLAND’s Facebook Group Page is constantly filled with excitement from fans as they go on Facebook Live to show support for MOMOLAND when they’re on tour. They also share their drawings of the K-pop band and run polls about their favorite band member. MOMOLAND responds to their fans whenever they make video announcements Live and also post video messages for their fans.
It’s this kind of interaction from MOMOLAND that made fans like Bryan Uy, follow them closely on Facebook. Getting the chance to finally meet the band in person was truly a thrill for him.
“I still can’t believe it. I just follow their posts and watch all their videos on Facebook and they’ve always made us fans feel connected with them. Meeting MOMOLAND is truly a dream come true. The connection that started on Facebook led to this amazing experience,” said Bryan Uy, one of MOMOLAND’s top fans in the group’s official Facebook fan Group.
Just how popular in MOMOLAND outside of South Korea? Out of its over 618,000 followers on Facebook, more than half—or 53% —are based in the Philippines. MOMOLAND also built a fandom throughout Southeast Asia through its official Facebook Group, and Instagram Page.
