The press release revealed that the multi-category license between Mattel and BTS will allow the production of dolls in the likenesses of the band’s seven members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. They will also create BTS-inspired collectible figures, games, and more!
The giant toy manufacturer will launch the official and first-ever line of BTS fashion dolls globally this summer and will cost $19.99. The dolls will be fashioned in the looks from the idol group’s record-breaking “IDOL” music video.
Given their fan’s unbelievable dedication to BTS, this creative collaboration with Mattel is expected to gain positive results as the idol group continues to have sold out tours across the globe.
“BTS is a pop-culture music phenomenon that transcends age, culture and language, and through this partnership, Mattel will offer a new way for millions across the world to engage with the band,” said Sejal Shah Miller, SVP & Global Brand GM for Mattel. “Partnering with established franchises that have global appeal is a cornerstone of our strategy and given our creative expertise, we are perfectly suited to create products celebrating BTS.”
They’re not Barbie or Ken dolls — these are a new line of Mattel dolls! Stay tuned for more info.
