KPOP World Festa 2018 is here!
It is a historic month for South Korea as the country is currently hosting the 23rd edition of the Winter Games (2018 Winter Olympics) in the Pyeongchang county. The 2018 Winter Olympics had a spectacular opening ceremony on February 9th. It was filled with diplomatic victories among nations; artistic performances and stunning presentations from South Korean figure skater Yuna Kim’s dreamlike lighting of the Olympic cauldron, to the ground-breaking assembly of drones that formed into Olympic rings!
South Korea also aims to show its global audience the best of its art and culture through the 2018 PyeongChang Cultural Olympiad.
On Feb 10, many of the country’s famous K-pop artists have gathered for the first edition of the K-pop World Festa on MBC MUSIC Show! Champion to show support and to celebrate this year’s Winter Olympics.

Despite the fierce winds and cold weather, the 2018 K-pop World Festa‘s first concert was sold out shortly after the sale. It was held from six to nine o’clock in the evening at Gangneung Wonju National University Stadium in Gangwon Province.
Top idols like BoA, Red Velvet, iKON, Seventeen, EXID, BTOB, and more showed passionate stages and shared much enthusiasm with the concert attendees, Olympic athletes and of course, the K-pop fans.
The 2018 K-pop World Festa will continue for the next two Saturdays to commemorate South Korea’s first Winter Games. The festival is co-hosted by the Gangwon Province and the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
