K-pop is going strong in Nepal! And the Hallyu force is strong in this part of the world, especially with the recent success of the K-POP World Festival held last June 25 at the Army Headquarter, Bhadrakali, Kathmandu!

The music festival was a part of the Korean Culture Day 2016 in Nepal which is aligned with the Government of South Korea. It aims to promote Korean culture and facilitate cultural exchanges in the country.
The K-POP World Festival (KWF) is an annual event organized by South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of numerous government agencies. After going through a few preliminary rounds, Kpop fans are invited by the South Korean government to take part in the final rounds of the competition held every year in Changwon, South Korea.
The K-pop cover groups known as Strukpop Crew, Mangolian Namjas, and WOW were announced as grand winners during the KWF in Kathmandu and they were gifted with Samsung phones!

They have performed a remix of the Nepali song Naesam Ferri Rii, and BTS’ Fire, Dope, I Need You. A one of a kind line up, eh? Take that BTS!
So, who says Nepal is not on the K-pop map?
