KPOP boy group EXO returns to Manila for EXO PLANET#3: The EXO’rDIUM, their fourth concert in the country. EXO, a Korean-Chinese boy group under SM Entertainment, rocked Araneta Coliseum for two nights on January 25-26, 2017. This is the second time they held a two-day concert in Manila following their Exo’luxion show in 2016.
EXO catered their fans with superb live performances of their tracks including MAMA, Monster, and Wolf. The coliseum was filled with fans on both dates, proving their superstar status in the country. Fans energetically waved their silver lightsticks bearing the letters EXO, as they sang along to the lyrics of the song.
Unfortunately one of the members, Yixing, was not able to join the group for this concert in the country due to schedule conflicts. However, fans were in for a treat because this time, Filipino EXO-Ls were able to see Xiumin and Kai in their best forms. Both members were injured during last year’s concert, preventing them to stand up and dance during the concert. This time, they gave excellent performances, which seemed to make the fans realize what they have missed during last year’s show.
With a 3-hour set, EXO’rDIUM proved to be both a visual and and an aural feast. Colorful lights dancing to the beat filled the stage as Sehun, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Kai, D.O., Suho, Xiumin, and Chen sang and danced harmoniously to their songs. They also presented an acoustic set with the members singing My Lady, My Turn to Cry, Moonlight, Call Me Baby, Love Love Love, and Lady Luck while Chanyeol strummed the guitar.
All the members expressed their delight in returning to Manila. As reminiscence of their first visit in the country, they even sang lines from Hawak Kamay, a Filipino song that they performed during that show in 2013. The crowd gleefully sang along with the members as they sang out the lyrics, which reverberated throughout the coliseum. The members also conversed in English with the crowd saying “Enjoy the show!”, “It’s good to be back” and “Did you miss us? We missed you so much”, on which the fans responded with loud screams and cheers.
Filipino EXO-Ls expressed their love for the members by holding up banners with the words “Our Love is Unstoppable” during the show. The group promised to be back, shouting ‘See you Philippines!’ at the end of the show.
EXO’rDIUM in Manila was made possible by SM Entertainment, Dream Maker, and Pulp Live World.
