MANILA – South Korean superstar IU finally held her first ever concert in the Philippines on Dec 13, 2019 at the Araneta Coliseum and it was magnificent.
The 26-year-old Lee Ji-eun, professionally known as IU, met her fans (UAENA 유애나) in the Philippines at a time in which she can proudly show her graceful maturity as an artist. The multi-talented celebrity who debuted at the age of 15 has now become an icon not only to people in her home country, but to millions of fans — especially to aspiring musicians from around the world.

That night at her sold-out concert, IU grandiosely met her audience in a beautiful lavender dress while singing her song, “Unlucky” from her latest album called Love Poem. She said it was the first time for her to hear a fan chant for that song and it was lovely.
IU also sang her 2017 hit song “Palette,” which is a track from her coming-of-age album of the same name. She danced and sang her greatest hits, showcasing her well-controlled and soothing vocals for almost four hours. She performed “The Visitor,” “Red Queen,” “Jam Jam,” “Twenty Three,” “BBIBBI,” “Hold My Hand,” “Last Night Story”, “Knees,” Meaning of You,” “Lullaby,” “Through the Night,” “dlwlrma,” “The Red Shoes,” “Above the Time,” “You and I,” and more!
The crowd definitely overwhelmed IU as she was both worried and excited for their amazing passion and cheerfulness that night. Her Manila fans called Ma-Aenas untiringly sang along to all of her songs which was a surprise to her, as she mentioned that some of them are not even popular in Korea.
The Ma-Aenas also prepared and held up banners that have blue roses and a special message printed on them. It was a touching sight for her and made her smile more during the concert. She was powerful, playful, sweet, and grateful. IU said she was very comfortable and even compared the concert to a festival with the same level of passion and warmth as the people of Busan. She even said that the Ma-Aenas may be unbeatable in terms of energy during the concert!
IU: It’s actually the first time for me to worry about my fans being more tired than me… I’m quite tough to beat but you guys beat my energy level tonight. It’s ok, I like tough people. 😊 #IULovePoemInManila pic.twitter.com/0Ux0YzjGwk

IU also dedicated a popular cover song, “Say You Love Me” by the acoustic Filipino band, MYMP. She has been a fan of the band for a long time now and asked Ma-Aenas to tell the band how much she likes them.
Big hand Joe’s IG his capoltion was “The Best of the best country”!!! (I still can’t to cry whenever I hear this kasi last song toh sa enencore bakit ang tagal pa enencore :<<<) #ComeBackToManilaIU #LovePoemInManila#DepartureDay pic.twitter.com/oLVGjdAZsi

The fans at the Manila leg of the “Love, Poem” concert tour were gifted with two long encores. IU delighted her fans more by performing her “3 Octave High Notes” iconic song, “Good Day.”
She also performed “Love Poem,” “Leon,” “Raindrop,” “Someday,” “Merry Christmas In Advance,” “Ending Scene” and “Heart.”
The concert ended with a beautiful goodbye stage from IU, her cheerful band, and fantastic dancers. It was definitely a date to remember for IU and Ma-Aenas.
So apparently, IU sang Someday, Heart and Ending Scene during her re-encore in Manila. Our #UmbrellaCouple heart! (Oh! Plus Raindrop! ☔)
