Mega idol group, BTS will head to the White House for a very special visit next week!
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are set to meet President Joe Biden on May 31st to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes and celebrate AANHPI (Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander) Heritage Month according to the White House’s official statement today.
Last week, the government has condemned the violence and hateful rhetoric toward minority communities at an event on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
‘Hate can have no safe harbor in America. And every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect,’ President Biden said.
The White House has also shared that BTS, the K-pop phenomenon, and Grammy-nominated musical group will also talk to President Biden about “Asian inclusion and representation”.
The BTS members have been vocal about their stand on social issues. They have often partnered with related organizations like UNICEF and United Nations General Assembly to show their commitment to helping spread hope and positivity through music.
The group as youth ambassadors has also been helping the youth and minority communities find their voice and speak up about what matters in their respective societies.
