Asiana Airlines passed the 300-million mark in cumulative passenger numbers on May 20, the carrier said Friday. The milestone comes 28 years after Asiana launched operations in 1988.
The carrier reached the 100-million mark in 2001, and 200 million in 2009. As for its annual international passenger volume, the figure has exceeded 10 million every year since 2010.
To celebrate the milestone, Asiana will offer discount tickets on 16 routes starting Tuesday, via its website.
Limited numbers of return tickets for seven domestic routes will be offered for W30,000 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and to some Asian destinations such as Hong Kong, Tokyo and Tsingtao for W130,000-190,000 on Thursday and Friday.
